Side marker lights

Post by Anonymous »

There is currently a yellow reflector in the side of each front fender on my car.

I'm hoping to convert them to illuminated side markers, partly for safety and partly because I personally think they look quite cool.

What I was wondering is, given the motor industry's useful habit of using interchangeable parts, does anyone know of any side marker lights which might fit in place of the reflectors? Or better still, does anyone have a spare pair knocking around?

:idea1:

Dimensions are as shown below. Thanks ;)

they look the same size as 69 charger, 69 Fury, but neither of those are illuminated. I put some Datsun lamps in my Charger, not a perfect fit, but I did it for safety pulling out of junctions, changing lanes etc .

I thought that somewhere around '70 Federal mandate said that they had to be illuminated. It may be that later cars have them.

Ok, thanks for the ideas folks.

I had a feeling it was about 1970 they had to put the marker lights on, maybe I'll have a look for later C-bodies.

If not, I'll look for rubberlite or similar.

Cheers all. :thumbright:

I found these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SIDE-MAR ... 0067400611

The seller says he is "unable" to measure them :? so does anyone here have a 79-83 charger and feel like measuring the lights for me?

Anyone have reason to think that they would or wouldn't fit where my reflectors are?

I'm a bit in the dark here... Geddit?!?
