As near to the back as poss, and sunk into the floor so's you still have some room. Give Kev a shout, I'm sure he'll post some pics of his install, very neat!

Great thread Kev, I forgot how informative that one was.

BTW, am about to do the same job on Julie's 67 Dart as it only has a 5 US gallon fuel cell in it at the moment.

Out of curiosity, why did you not sink the cell down deeper in the cut out in the trunk floor? Lower centre of gravity and more room for wife beater at the Nats?

I was thinking of doing the same job only with the top of the fuel cell almost flush with the original trunk floor.
No clearance problems underneath so were there any other reasons behind the way you did it?

PS - great seeing you and the family yesterday - loved the corn snake - and thanks for the loan of the bits!!!!!

I'm afraid I've copped out on the origami  Flat plate instead of the wheel well and a bit of bracing

Doubt that the 16 gal tank will ever be full for long..... :?

Wish I had seen this before. The position depends n what you want the car to do. For Drag racing it wants to go back, for Circuit racingit wants to be in the position where the tank going from full to empty will least affect the dynamics of the car. In general as low as posible and just infront of the axle. In most cases this is actually impossble, but ideal.
