You'll need to get a power wire brush onto those pillars,or maybe a spot sandblaster. Then trim back with a disc cutter to good metal. For any awkward shapes make up repair templates with cardboard before cutting and losing a shape.Do you have a mig welder?Lots of practice on scraps of new metal to get the hang of it before you start on the car
Good luck, that's looking quite straightforward fairly easy repair work.

Well done Connor - As for ur m8 havin a laf, just think of what the girls are gonna think of ur luverly bench seat
.
A quick question guys - I had a rotten window strip on the back window of me Chally. I had MIGged it but then I gave the patched strip a THIN skim of fibreglass filler to smoothen the patched area a bit (To get a good glass to strip seal). Is it ok or would it be better to clean up the filler, and just try to get the glass straight onto the strip ?

Well played young man , and probably the youngest B bod owner in the U of K
and another car to look forward to seeing emerge in the future.
Its not unheard of for braodcast sheets to find their way into the wrong cars on the production line either
If i could give you any advice tho it would be to make sure you whare a welding mask at all times and dont be tempted to do even a little welding without it. You can get a welding mask now that you can see thro clearly and as soon as you spark up it goes darker , so your not constantly lifting it to see where your hittin it. You'll be an ace welder when you get going
You dont want to end up like me when i was doing my trunk floor and takin off the mask so i could see where i was welding
And be aware that an electric arc is brighter than the sun
Good on yer fella ,keep up the good work

Welding without a mask can also give you sunburn effects from the UV radiation,in as little as 3 minutes. Don't accelerate possible skin cancer

I remember not wearing one when I tacked on a chassis rail on a Camaro just so I could see better. I ended up with dandruff and skin peeling off me face - no kidding, had to ring in & take a couple of days off work. "K-19 Widowmaker" was on that same day and everyone at work said "...Hey Chris, we thought of you when we saw these guys crawlin out of the reactor room !". How embarrasing
