Well my dad found out about not wearing a mask but not as bad as you lot honestly. Safety first. Anyway dads going to do most of the welding.
Guys I've got 2 hoods to run with the car a flat and an air grabber but I'm not sure witch one to use 'cause i like them both witch one do you think i should use both are going to be fixed up and painted.
Air grabber, definitely. A cool option, and I get the impression quite a rare one, but I'm sure those who know more about these things will correct me?
Right we only had one day to work on it this weekend and we have managed to strip out the dash which was fiddly and also got the heater and blower out. Also managed to get out the brake pedal and foot brake mechanism and removed the wiper mechanism
Left in the interior is the window mechanisms and the glass, got to get the door off and the steering column and then the interior should be bare.
There's nothing worse than that moment when you have thousands of parts piled on the floor and you realise you can't remember where they all came from!

Here is the latest update on the Coronet. We spent the weekend stripping out the rest of the doors (once we had found the allen key). All the trim, interior, and glass is out so all we are left with now is the running gear. The rust is quite bad and the bottom of the doors have gone one door skin is irrepairable the deck lid has rust all along the edge and corners the front wings have several holes and the dottom by the door has gone. The drivers and passenger foot wells have gone and the rear passenger foot well has rusted out. the boot floor has gone the bottom of the inner wings have rusted away and the rear light panel has lots of holes in it. Oh and bothe rear quarterrs have rusted out at the bottoms so if we can get that repaired next weekend it should be in paint by March I know you can get quarters and the floor parts but do they do door skins, deck lids and front wings new or is it down to patching it all in.
Dad is going to build a rotisseie to mount the car on. We had all the metal delivered today so I will post pics of how things go with that has anyone else done one. Thats it for this installment see you next time.
To be honest that's the only part that i want to do cleaning all the parts is a nightmare. There all pitted and rusted, must think of a solution apart from buying new ones.
Like I said earlier in this thread, get yourself the book I lonked to - it goes through how to repair even the most swiss-cheese of panels and how to make your own
