if it was me , i think i would be inclined to fit the scoop or fiberglass hood with a scoop , mean looking on them coronets . also no clearance problems should you decide to change the intake or carb .
The big flat '67 hemi scoop looks really good on a '66, not too many people use those, so it's a little different. Treat yourself to a complete lift off 'glass hood if you are going that route, gets a whole bunch of weight off the nose, and makes working in the engine bay a lot easier....
