Instrument Cluster

Post by dustymopar »

The chrome effect trim on my instrument cluster is wearing through to pale blue plastic moulding. How do manufacturers achieve this chrome effect and can it be reproduced?

Answers on a postcard - thanks :D

You can send 'em back to the states for rechroming, not cheap! For us cheapskates, there is some kind of 2 part paint you can get from modelling shops that works very well, I'm sure one of the "toy boys" will tell you what it's called....

Its probably too shiny though isn't it :? The stuff Blue is talking about looks closer to the original finish and comes in spray cans or airbrush type from your local model shop. Try here..........

Obviously test a small area before slapping it all over your dash ;)
