Engine mountings
Just fitted a set of modified engine mountings. Some of you may have seen them on 440 Source, guaranteed for life, whatever that means. Took me 3 hours tonight and couldn't be bothered to take it out when I had finished but I'll let you know. Anyone tried them?

These are the ones that are rubber but lock solid on internal taper pins are they not?
I bought a pair to fit on my Challenger years ago. Got mine from Year One as part of a bigger order.
They said nothing about being "guaranteed for life" which is a pity because my 500+HP engine ripped the drivers side mount apart after a couple of trips to the strip.......
I would still use a torque strap if I were you.

Maybe it didn't take as long as 3 hours but every nut was tight on the bolt and had to be undone with a spanner until it dropped off. I hope you were just unlucky Dave, this is what they claim, "You absolutely WILL NOT break these mounts ever! In fact, they are covered by a LIFETIME WARRANTY for as long as you own the car!"
These are the type of mounts I fitted a few months ago but I couldn't live with them. Just too much noise and vibration.

Dave - with your engines horse power and fine balance I know you'll make better use of them than me. Cranking the engine with them fitted sounded awful but on them move I didn't really notice much difference, but then again it was with a four speed at the time.
I've seen some really la-di-da ones recently - they are the two metal halves of mount 'wrapped' round each other but surronded by rubber, with the wrapping round having the same effect as the mounts at the top of this thread and/or a torque strap (sorry, bit hard to describe without a picture!).
Didn't some Mopars come with an extra 'torque strap' bolted around the drivers mount and fitted as standard? I seem to remember them being fitted to cop cars....

Got the rubber mounts fitted & a scumaker torque strap.
Had the solid mounts fitted & it was a pig to drive, with vibration right through to the dash.
Granted, the motor wasn't running as smooth as it is now,but I reckon there still a pig.
Those scumaker straps are pretty solid bit of kit.
With my TTI headers,it was a sod to change the mounts, took me about two months
