The thing is my 68 charger has a red/maroon interior with cloth seats, i have been told they are incorrect. they look like the have been there for a while and have the right pleats in, they match the rest of the interior.

There probably the originals & been reupholstered,as the original 68 three pleat seat would have been vinyl.

Maybe at some point the owner did'nt like the sticky sweaty seats when it was in the states. :dontknow:

The buddy seat came with the three on the tree (colum) shifter.

Whats beneath the cloth covering? Be nice if it were the original vinyl, but to get the pleats in the cloth I would of thought the original was long gone.

Maybe they did a factory option for cloth, but I doubt it.

What Adam said.

Looks like material from a Ford Orion. Right pattern, wrong fabric.

All that can be obtained though from Legendary / Year One etc. etc.

I've had a couple of hours looking at websites but I can't find anything cloth until the early /mid70's. So,you have several possibilities, original been recovered, ultra rare option or prototype. Can you tell if the door panels and dash pad have been re-coloured/vinyl painted? I wonder if it's possible that the first owner or any of his family can be traced? Whatever,I wouldn't alter anything until you are sure it's not original/rare.

Hmm, maybe it was an export model.

Be interesting to find out.

I've been in touch with a guy in the states, Mr W D Goad. He confirms my car was burgandy (RR1) paint and maroon/red interior (C6R), but he's not sure about the cloth seats. It was a rare option in 69..! he thinks the trim looks original/factory fitted. thats all I have been able to find out this far, I have not been in touch with the original ower as i dont know who they were.
