Another new ride

Here is my latest new ride, its a 2001 Durango SLT with the 5.9 Magnum.
I picked the truck up from Dave Madders on Saturday.
Once I get rid of the Trans Am and the Grand Prix ( which is going Friday) my whole stable of cars will be wearing a Dodge badge.

Yeah i'm pleased with it, had a few minor electrical gremlins but overall its a good bit of kit, just got to gear myself up to keeping it clean though, its a hell of a lot of black paintwork!!!

I am starting to down size Ivor, Grand Prix goes on friday and the Trans Am would be going if I get my arse in gear and fit the new Optispark.

It is a pain, Dean.

Make sure you get the water out of everywhere before cracking the pump. It sounds as though your Optispark is knackered so you may not need to bother with protecting the old one, but I stuck lots of plastic bags over the Opti and still got it covered in water and Dex Cool.

The pumps can be a bear to get off the block.

Don't lose the water pump driveshaft

Are you changing the Opto because the pump failed and the weep hole is weeping Dex Cool all over it ? Check the weep hole. If the pump is weeping, the Opti will go again.

I actually have a spare Napa water pump for an LT-1 somewhere. I got two as they were cheap, at least in comparison to GM's prices.

The Opti has gone, or at least I hope its the Opti, so i am changing the pump as a matter of course. Once its done the car is down the road.
