Brake failure on Street Eliminator Car

This happened to Red Victor One at the weekend, Andy Frost's Street Eliminator Victor. It was during the rolling burnout. It's from a Mercedes C200(?) I was talking to a crew member and he reckoned it was "component failure". I've had a chat with some other tech dudes and the opinion is it could have been tyre shake Whatcha reckon? These street legal cars can reach 180ish over the quarter. Could that fatigue a big chunk of cast iron? (The C200 has a top speed of around 145mph as far as I know.)

Tyre shake can be unbelievable from what I've seen and more so by people who have experienced & spoken to me about it (Pro Mod & T/A Drivers)
So I would say it was plausible, combined with the incessant / constant rigors of massive heat build up from 180 -200mph stops

It's got a 'chute as well Some of the Eliminator tackle is awesome! Billy the Kid's Prochargered Camaro has a nitrous spray bar to cool the intercooler. SuperTrick! And Splinter's Cougar is awesome! Carbon/Kevlar body shell. Intercoolers where the dash should be so he sits in the back! etc etc. How does Mr Lazenby get to these meets from Stirling every other week? There's dedication for all you Scottish whingers

I have always suspected that Mr Lazenby has an enormous wad...
Admired his car and efforts since the start when it was an all steel affair I think.
Eliminator is well cool,and much respect has to go to all the guys who do it for what is not a lot of prize money for their investment..

woh, never seen one do that before. apart from stress cracks due to heat i can only suggest if the caliper was pushing the disc across for some reason (seized caliper slider etc) that could cause a lot of stress to it. Maybe it is a dodgy cheap pattern part, looks like very brittle cast iron.

Ok, Ok, enough! The new incarnation of Andy Frost's car, which had the brake failure, is Red Victor 2 There's always one, isn't there? And it's usually an I.T. type!
