Re-chroming

Post by Dino »

This is gonna sound like a daft question but.....what trims apart from the bumpers are you able to chrome on a Charger? A friend of my fathers has offered to chrome anything I need doing before he leaves his job and moves to Scotland, we've not discussed a price yet but I think it's going to be a lot cheaper than taking it anywhere else. I know nothing about the whole process of chroming and wondered what trims would stand up to the treatment, some of them look quite brittle. :? Am I being a tool? lol. :help:

Door handles, fuel filer and trim ring, overriders, console top / rear plate, side marker light housings. Some of that is going to be Mazak, and will need prepwork to remove surface imperfections, but that lot is about it. The rest - drip rail mouldings, front / rear screen surrounds ect. is stainless. That can be polished so he may be able to help out there.

I just had all the stuff they Clivey mentioned rechromed and they come up lovely. Door handles needed a couple of copper plates and buffs to really get the pits out. Get the lot done if you can...

Only bits I couldnt do was the side indicators. Too far gone... Fell apart on removal ! Plus the quarter light window rail. Need to get it done really, lets frames down now.
