do i have 727 problems?
the torqueflite 727 in my charger seems to slip (the engine revs rise like a clutch slipping from second finishing until third gear is in) every now and again, especialy when cold between 2nd and 3rd gear when upshifting, it seems to get better and stop slippingwhen warm after say 10 miles of driving, the tranny was rebuilt last year, and the problem has just started to occur. i have only just done an oil and filter change after the 1000mile break in after the rebuild.
is it adjustment or do i need to pull it out to inspect, or is this o.k.?

checked it again today, it only does it when its cold and not at all if i shift it manually, the kick down leaver is adjusted and the oil level in the box when hot and idling in neutral is between the high and low mark, and the oil is crystal clear-so much you have to strain to see it on the dipstick! so i think there`s no burning of clutches inside.
any ideas anyone?

Still sounds like fluid level to me but it sounds like you've checked that right... assuming yer not on a hill
If i remember right there are 2 screw & locknut adjusters on the side for the bands, could be one of those not set right?
I'd use it as little and as genly as poss til you've solved this- aoutboxes can eat their own insides when things start to go wrong
Like Trev says- Dunc or Blue needed.

just seen this,
from cold it should still shift the same maybe a little different but not slippy
is it slipping in 2nd??? or is it as its trying to shift in to 3rd, if its the later it could be the seals in the high gear clutch are contracted and oil pressure is gettin past and not applyin the clutch hence the slip, as it warms up the seals expand and then it all works correct, if it slips in 2nd then its a problem on the servo or the band either way it wants looking at or at the least drive it gently till its warm

Im having the same prob with my 904, it started all of a sudden i was shifting manually and when i got to D it felt like it was stuck between 2nd and 3rd so i went back to 2 and it selected it ok but i think i did damage inside, have an over haul kit on the way to do while its down.
the box is still in the car but i can only see one band adjuster on the left side just over the linkage, where is the other located, its a bit tight in there!
