Steering problems

It will have to do for the moment.

The good news is that I found another problem, whereby the Torsion bar was moving backwards allowing the LCA to move forward and aft. Had to pack both ends of the torsion bar - did the same with the other side to be safe. Left LCA had moved back about 3/8", maybe more  What a lousy design.....

I guess adjustable UCA's are on the cars, or an AlerKation

You got the spring circlips holdin them in @ the rear?

If the T/B is into the socket on the LCA & the circlip fitted @ the rear , then the only packing needed is grease.

The LCA is bolted through the K frame . :? :?

Think you've found the problem. :thumbright:

NOT correct Adam, if you have Urathane bushes. That works for Rubber only.

I don't know what you are on about Pete? Adam is correct.

I have polly bushes on everything and bolted up the same way as the stock rubber bushes.

The torsion bars are held at the rear with cir-clips and the LCA is bolted to the K-frame. It cannot move.

Pete , as Dave says , everything is the same whether using poly or rubber , the only difference being you can leave the outer bush in the LCA (making life a lot easier) when using poly.

:-k

Pete , you sure you have'nt left half the front end behind @ the track.

Fair enought guys; jut please explain to me how I managed to remove the LCA from the car without undoing the Pivot shaft nut on the front of the "K" frame (I do not mean the Strut rod nut, which I did have to undo) :read2:

I don't know Pete , maybe you can tell us. :?

To remove the LCA , you have to remove front strut, split bottom k,remove circlip in rear of T/B, then you can pull em out.

Can't see the LCA not bein bolted to the K frame, unless the LCA was held in by the T/B & strut rod.

You got me curious Pete.

Pete the pivot shaft bolts to the front of the k-frame. Like in the photo. Look on any of your other cars.

No wonder the steering is all over the place.
