So the car was in a parade on the street, does a burnout, and disappears into the crowd (my moneys on a stuck throttle).......Good case for no burnouts on the street. Glad it wasn't at a track. Very sad to see. :(

This was always my big concern at the MoparEuronats pub cruise. A disaster waiting to happen. I still feel it was very wise of us to call the cruise off this year. Those guys who perform Burn Outs on the street should just take a moment to think of the consequences when something goes horribly wrong. My condolences to the familys who have suffered a terrible loss. Thanks for the posting.

On a recent visit to the Ace Cafe ( Hot-Rod night) I have to say there was just to many people there with cars, plus people there with there wife's-kids. It just seems there's a huge accident waiting to happen ( sorry t be killjoy !!) but if you cant control these events they should be marshaled by stewards or police.
Just my 2pw.

While it is a very sad accident I think all this talk of banning events like this is a knee jerk reaction. One incident, over sea's is hardly a reason to ban it. If that was a case with all sport the only sport would be on DVD as it would all be in the past!

Its already banned, when were you ever legally allowed to do a burnout on the street?

Deaths caused by stupidity seem so unjust, common sense is in short supply these days ...

Reminds me of the old footage you see of rally cars going full bore with crowds inches from both sides
I'm all for spectacular & dangerous stunts but someone with a brain should work out beforehand the fallout zone if it all goes wrong and keep the public out of the way! There's no excuse for an incident like this.
No-one will believe you...
