I find it a hard to believe that the pipes weren't pre-formed before being used on the production line. Therefore it is complete wastege to simply wrap up the excess length, they would have had different shaped pipe forms to suit the various model differences. Fitment isn't an issue since brake lines are often one of the first processes on a production line.
