Yes, it is argent.

I think there are possibly two types, some seem to be argent all over and some have a black grill with an argent silver surround and vertical highlights (which mine has, NOS item 6 years ago). Dont know if this is a model variable (ie SE and standard) or just a production thing.

Where would you buy Argent silver from Mr. Powell? Is it an aerosol? How is it applied? Gun or brush?

Mancini sell it at about ten bucks a can and according to the indefatigueable Mister Benn, they can ship it Fedex because they have pressurised aeroplanes

I'm mixing some up as soon as I've matched Roger's Charger grille in something better than moonlight :)
The pump don’t work coz the vandals took the handles.

Im not up to Ivors or SteveBs restos standards, so I done it by spraying on charcoal black and while it was still tacky I sprayed dustings of aluminium silver over it until I was happy with the tone. I then sealed it in with a semi gloss varnish (trying to think of proper word). This was on a metal Challenger rear panel. Not very proper, but it was a great finish.
Uh oh, I feel another before and after pic coming on.....

I used argent wheel silver from frost restoration ( made by eastwood ) on mine. Don't know if its correct shade or how long it will last but I'm very pleased with the look. The car has been outside all summer and winter and it still looks as good as it did when I sprayed it.

I've got some simoniz too and I couldn't tell the difference between that and the argent I think the argent can sprayed a tad better but the end result was the same.

sorry about the late reply, but been busy, i am glad it's argent as i have a couple of cans leftover from when i restored the wheel centeres on my old challenger, i found the cans sprayed well if i left them in hot water for 10 mins before i used em, these were also from frosts/eastwood. black grill lookes well mean though, mmmm!

Trev, some grills are black, the inner walls of the sharks mouth / inlet surround was always argent though. Looks cool when done like that. Will you post some pics when you do yours?
