I bought a set of Cragars really cheap but the chrome is peeling off rims badly. Is it worthwile to even ask about rechroming or should I just bin them ?

It costs almost as much to get items dechromed as it does to get chroming done.

I guess it all depends on what you paid, what it will cost for Chroming versis a new Set of wheels.

Is there a 'cheap' was of removing the chrome? Might be worth considering painting or powder coating them if you can get the old chrome off :-k

Could still look good........ well... different, at least :?

What was that firm mentioned on here last year? They do a sort of chrome paint. It looked very good.

Trouble is the chrome is peeling not pitting. It comes off in chunky flakes - Having said that it only peels on the rim so, suppose I could clean it up a bit, paint the rim & put nice trim rings on em...
