S/B dip stick wierdness

You are correct, the dip stick fits inside a tube which comes from the right side front of the block assembly (looking from the rear)

I do not have a spare, sorry..

It is likely that the end snapped off in the hole and the rest got thrown out. Happend to my engine and took me ages to draw out the broken bit, ended up threading an old tap into it and yanking it out.
