i know an appaling one called Sylmar near Ellesmere Port that shut down shortly after destroying most of the tin on my 1975 Yam RD :angry5: (I think i'm ok to name 'em if they no longer exist?)
Be VERY careful who you trust with your precious parts- go by recommendation of someone you trust (i.e. MMA members :D )
No-one will believe you...

Sorry, Mods, but I feel us English are far too stiff upper lip and I think if a company has wronged you then they can be named and shamed. What are the opinions? (I don't know any good chrome platers, by the way!)

Derby Plating, in, erm, Derby, have a good reputation. However when I asked about getting some stuff done it was horrendously expensive.

I don't know if he would be able to help but Karl Russell Electroplating has a decent Rep in Showplating Lambretta and Vespa bits.
If you click http://www.yamaha-rd.com/forum/topic-437.html there is some talk of him and contact details.
He used to work for a platers and did a few custom projects himself to first class standerd.
Now set up on his own.
I think he may have done bumpers before for some Jags.
Oh yeah and hes in your town too!
