roadrunner clutch

Post by the bishop »

Hi does anyone know how to tell if my 69 roadrunner 4 speed has a 10.5" or 11" clutch without taking the gearbox off to find out also any ideas on this when you first start the car the clutch is fine but after about 5 mins it makes a herendous graunching noise even in neutral ticking over release bearing me thinks but why only when its `warmed up' ?

No it makes the noise even when your foot isnt on the clutch but if you rest your foot on the pedal real gently the note of the noise changes strange!

That sound a lot like a thrust bearing disintegrating to me!

Sorry, your eminence, but I think it's time to drop that gearbox.
The pump don’t work coz the vandals took the handles.

Pretty sure the 11" clutch used a 143 tooth flywheel and the 10.5" clutch was fitted to a 130 tooth flywheel.
