Tranny front seal gone?

Tranny front seal gone?

Got back from shakey to find car partially undersealed in trans oil.
Cleaned everything and the put my fingers inside the trans bell housing and below the ring gear found clean trans oil.
Front oil seal gone?

My convertor cracked it's snout down both sides with loads of oil leak.

mile,s could just be the box had a fit and got a bit hot and blew oil from the breather, its at the top off the pump inside the bellhousing and would make you think the seal was gone, clean it out and get your level right and use the car keep your eye on it

OK Dunc, thanks for that. Even so, a quick blast for 10 miles last night still produced oil, but ticking over for 10 minutes in my driveway today didn't! Racing tomorow, so will report back :thumbright:

Deffo leaking, raced it today and came back to find oil in the front of the bellhousing.

Its an easy seal to fit. Just a pain in the butt having to drop the trans to do it.

No rush Dave, next query will be about what torque convertor to fit whilst the tranny is out :thumbright:
