dumbass question, which cyl is no. 1 ?

On a Big block.. dumbass question, which cyl is no. 1 ? is it the front L (drivers side) or front R (nearest to distributor) ?

ta. Original intake had them marked but the Edelbrock doesnt.
Think i might label my HT leads
