Brake Interchange - Charger to Fury ??

Post by MattH »

1966 Fury 3 . Does anyone know if the front discs from a 1974 Charger will fit up to a 66 Fury 3. New member without MB access needs to know.
He has been offered discs with the wishbones and uprights.
Any answers please here or call Simon 01628 823053.
Thanks all.

I'm thinking not. I know the '71-'73 C Bodies are usually used to convert drum brake C bods over to discs.

I know some folks who may know though, back later...

According to Richard Ehrenberg;
Steering knuckles on 73-up B-bodies, while visually very similar, are taller, altering suspension geometry (camber change, bump steer, etc.), and possibly forcing the ball joints beyond their designed range.

According to Mark Olsen - "the lower ball joints won't match the upper's are different the length of the steering arm is wrong. Bottom line is NO they won't work without a ton of mods. It is cheaper to find some newer "C" body disks or get aftermarket ones. "

So thats two informed "no's" and one guess "no"

Looks like "no" then.

Scarebird or whatever they're called do C Body brackets for $75 to mount an 80s Cadillac Eldorado calliper and a late model Chrysler 300M rotor. Seems like the cheapest way unless you have a '71 - '73 C Body lying about. Not something you see a lot of over here.
