I am going to get a 100% waterproof cover for the Dart. I will get it from the States, I may be able to get cheaper shipping if I buy a few. Anyone else need one?

I've tried some that claim this, evertime they soaked up the water and held it against the car! Be interested to see how well they work. What's the price Jeff?

Oh believe me Martin! I have tried loads of them! All been pretty rubbish, but have all been pretty cheap too. These are around $150 plus shipping. I just wondered if i bought a few the shipping might drop.

Yeah, covers are bad news for outdoors. I had an expensive breathable one on my Satellite, and it soaked up moisture like a sponge - all the chrome came off the bumper.

Was quite relieved when someone stole it off the car

Make sure the piant is waxed properly and smear vasalene or grease on the brightwork ( chrome). And when you clean it off in the spring the chrome will look better than ever. The winter weather wont rot your car away if it's stood on the drive not being used. Salt on the roads will corode the underside. If it's protected with wax and grease it will be sound. You want the air to flow around so it will dry when it got wet. Car covers are bad news.

Thanks for that john much appreciated so the grease and wax should then act as a barrier :thumbright:

Thats right I used to put vasaline on the wheels and mudgaurds of my Yamaha FS1E Moped and continue to use it through the winter. Believe me it looked a real mess by January but cleaned up in spring and the chrome came up a treat :thumbright:
