Not sure, but is the Push button pan EXACTLY the same as the later ones ?
Just a thought, may not totally cover the gasket area. Blue will know as he has just rebuilt a small Block A727 push button for Julies car (spare).
Failing that it's spindles, & piup unions. I also assume its not from the Torque convertor seal and running down the front of the transmission....
Cheers.

Oh Dear! My English has let me down big timeIvor wrote:Still bet it's the dipstick hole, so there.

When I said "It's the pan, not the tube"
It should have read "It is the pan, not the tube?"
Now if a simple grammatical error as such could cause 3 erroneous posts between myself and the esteemed Ivor, imagine what some people read into some of the Bananarama! some of you seem to write

Sounds like mine... I too thought it was the sump.
Turned out the be the rear of the box, the head of some pin/shaft thingy (Blue will doubless be proud of my description there).
Symptom is just the same though - really really looks like the pan.
Looking from top of car, shaft is here - wipe it and check it. Drips about half a dozen/night.

The dipstick tube is held in with one bolt. I had the same problem & it was coming from the base of the dipstick tube where it seals against the block. It should pull straight out, having said that I had to drop the sump and tap mine out from underneath the car. There was no sign of any existing "o" ring so I stuck my new dipstick tube in with gasket seal.No more leaks thankfully & now the underside of my car is dry
Hope you get sorted..best of luck
