Reverse lights to indicators

Post by Derek »

Has anybody got a diagram showing how to change the reverse lights to indicators and do away with the red indicators, I know you have to run a new wire for the brake lights but i cant remember what else, it's been years since I've done this. By the way it's not on my car, it's on a 64 Impala.

I know Pete, but he wants orange indicators, worried he might get rear ended.

Fair play, don't have a diagram but it is pretty straight forward.

As you say, you have to run a new live feed from the brake switch to the back of the car and splice that in to the rear light loom to feed the higher wattage filament of the twin brake/tail lights, whilst diverting the original feeds to the "new" indicators.

Here you go Derek, this is what I used on the Road Runner, and an alternative...I'm sure the principle is much the same...if I'm wrong, you'd better order one of Mister Benn's fire extinguishers!

I was wondering where I got it from!

Well, you'll be glad to know it works and I'm still alive! :thumbright:
