I think its pretty well thrashed by now?, alot of debris in there and that low/rev clutch housing is toast! Would it be possible to machine the surface on that part? or would it cause hassle with the band as it would slightly change the diameter of the assembly?

It might be worth a try, get a new converter, flush out the pump and valve body and cooling system, any thing else that i should look for that could have caused the original problem ( slipping in change up from 2 to 3) (oh and was manually abused between gears without a shift kit!) :oops:

I used a TCI kit the last time is there a better rebuild kit out there or will this one do? :thumbright:

Dont bother machining the drum. Done that on a box of mine about 30 years ago when I didn't know any better lasted about 30 miles. 904s are cheep second hand ask Blue if he can help you out

Ive got a 727 for a 318, came out of a early 70s dodge truck,
don't know what its like as it came with a load of spares when i brought
my truck.
