They are not MoPars because they were not made by Chrysler, Dodge or Plymouth.

But having Chrysler drive trains makes them cousins. British cousins. So of course you have to include them as part of the greater family circle.

I quite like some of the Bristol models. They are not all fuddy-duddy. But most are a little like your posh Aunties front room I guess.

Jensens have a big trans tunnel. As Linda once told me, you can't dislike a car with a big trans tunnel.

I like Jensens but I wouldnt class them as Mopar. Just a great British marque with a great engine and running gear choice.

Let me just state again. A MoPar is a Chrysler, Dodge or Plymouth. It is no other make. So you cannot "class" anything else as a MoPar even if you wanted too.

Surely MoPar stands for 'Motor Parts', and a Jensen is made of Chrysler Motor Parts...

P.S. Button was named after Jensen, so I guess it's his parents who are dyslexic.

What it originally stood for is neither here nor there.

We are talking about a niick-name given to Chyrser Dodge Plymouth cars. The nick name was never used for other chrysler owned car makes or any makes using chrysler parts.

Example;

My name is David. But I was called "Butch" by everyone as a little kid and "Pop" when I was older.

Now by your logic you can call every David you ever meet Pop or Butch instead. It don't work like that.

i dont think anyone with a direct connection to the jensen brand, would want the name to be linked to dodge/plymouth etc

I agree with you Duncan 100%, most Jensen owners do not want to be associated with Dodge,Plymouth,Chrysleror Mopar owners (until they want some cheap engine and gearbox parts) or heaven forbid, American car owners.......... who they think are so common and rough!!!!!!!
