MOPAR - Move Over Power Arriving Rapidly

Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay My Mopar upon you

Bad News indeed. One of a kind Daredevil! SuperHeroes had nothing on this geezer when I was a boy, he was the real deal! I got a repro Evel Knievel stunt bike set last year as a prezzie from Carole, not for collecting. It's been used and abused plenty! I will get it out tomorrow and give it large in respect of the (flawed) guy! 8-) 8-) 8-)

I wish he had lasted into old age as he would of made a great grumpy old man. Some great quotes from him in this link.

A very hard act for his son to follow, a true showman.

One of the toughest, bravest men to ever live.
Sure he had some (bad!) faults...

The thing that sticks in my mind is that he would be fully aware that he probably wasn't going to make a jump but he'd still have a go.

If you want to see the nearest modern-day equivalent look at Seth's exploits on YouTube, well worth getting his DVD 'The Hard Way', ending in his record attemp jump where he overshoots the entire landing ramp, snapping his bike in two and busting his skull

Bye Evel
No-one will believe you...

Sad news indeed, a big hero of mine in the 70,s as a kid. Always wanted a Evel toy but never got one.Used a lot of Triumphs aswell. Top fella gone R.I.P and thanks for the memories, a true American idol.
