no NOT at all the jensen was a big money car for the elite in the day, £6,000 back in 72, a world away from some guy workin his 9-5 shift in a massive factory producing 1.000,s off chrysler cars a day and sellin for around $5,000,
i have been around chrysler products for the last 20 yrs and cannot get my head round the ridiculous price tags they can fetch empty tin box with a big engine,

Funny you should say that, many years ago a guy used to keep one of his Astons in the same row of lock up's as my Barracuda. He was a very posh, flat cap and tweed jacket type of guy, but he always stopped for a chat to see what I was working on, very friendly...

I don't think all owners of Jensens are snooty, though some may be, I've got all sorts of old crap in the garage - a vintage tractor etc, and I'm just me regardless of what I'm doing or driving. I'm happy that it's got a nice big 'proper' American engine in it, it wouldn't be half the car if it had been fitted with a 3 litre Ford V6. (for instance)

If you want snooty then I think you better check out the Aston owners!

Julian.
what a PERFECT answer julian, i have got a bentley but would STILL have a conversation with SAY someone with a 69 ROADRUNNER ;) ;)

Got to agree with that. The only good thing about MoPars becoming so expensive is I will have a decent down payment on an Aston the first day I can afford one. That is what I have always wanted the most and one day so help me god I will get there. Like you and your Bentley Dunc.

I couldn't afford a Jensen or a real Mopar when I bought my 318 Oz Charger in 1982. The Charger was only £500.

Funny enough. Oz Chargers were originally imported as a cheaper alternative to the Jensen. To see MoPars going for more money these days (and in some cases more than a new Aston DBS) does seem wrong somehow.
