The max wedge is a RB engine, originally a 413 and later 426. The biggest difference with that over the other RB's is the cylinder heads, the cross ram intake and the worlds heaviest cast iron exhaust manifolds. The Max wedge heads are closed chamber and have the biggest ports and valve diameter of any mopar wedge head. It is a racing engine primarily, not de tuned for street use. As far as I know you could order it on any of the early sixties B bodies, the factory light weight cars had them until the 426 hemi was available. The magnum engine is a modern variant of the LA small block, I don't know much about any mopars after about '73, so someone else will have to fill you in on that one. A wedge engine is so called because of the angle of the valves in relation to the piston crown. If you were to look at it side on, the space between the two is a wedge shape.
