Body types - a nerdy question

Post by Anonymous »

I really know how to have a good time. Its Saturday night and I am Sat in on my own drinking beer and reading Peter Sessler's "Dodge and Plymouth Red Book".

Find myself wondering what are the defining differences between:

hardtop coupe
sport coupe
hardtop gran coupe
coupe

I know someone on here knows the answers :thumbright:

MOPAR - Move Over Power Arriving Rapidly

Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay My Mopar upon you

its a coupe that has a b post and a hardtop that hasn't
I suspect the others are something to do with trim options...

So, to recap.....

hardtop coupe - strange misnomer peculiar to early Barracudas
coupe - B Pillared design
hardtop - Pillarless
sport coupe - B Pillared design, probably with sport trim, etc.
hardtop gran coupe - poncy name for another hardtop!

Oh well, I can sleep easy now.. :D

Thanks

It is easy when you remember a hardtop is a hard version of a convertible. Hence the name. So no B-pillar. ;)
