The original Dodge Charger concept was designed with using a turbine in mind.
At the time that the Charger was first on the drawing board Chrysler had been testing turbine cars with promising results. The designers had this in mind when designing every aspect of the car. Which is why the front grille on the '68 looks like a jet aircraft air intake and the rear lights look like afterburners.
So he is using the right car for his project. Just the wrong year.
