Hi,

Yes I can not lie, it was me. I did a wedding in Rhiwbina (I know I know it looks like something Simon's tried to spell  ;) ) then on to the reception, which was at the New country house hotel, Thornhill.

I was, as always, blindly following TomTom

Think it was a definite message there Darran, keeeep your charrrgerrr oooOOOoooo keep keep keep

Thanks for the comments guys, your too kind :thumbright:

I was driving up Nangarw (pronounced NANT GAROOOOO!) Hill when I saw it, and you know what Phil when I did see it I was so blown away cos when you use a car as a daily like I have been doing for last 4 months you kind of lose respect for it or forget just how cool a Charger is on the road. :thumbright:

But Got back home really depressed about the fact their is one on my drive and it may have to go....

.....but now made appointment to see bank manager on Monday - gotta keep it now, so Thanks Phil for the inspiration and on a side note I live like 2 Min's for the country house hotel - if Id known you could popped in for a hot coffee- cos on that mountain its usually snowing by now!

Cant make it tomoz but perhaps my local car club can organise a cruise their one Sunday :thumbright:
 well it was blooming cold up there!!!

Thanks for the coffee offer, I really needed one I can tell you!!! It is a surprisingly quick journey from Swindon to the country house hotel , about 1hr 20Min's door to door so I think we should def organise a meet up in 2008!

Good on yer Phill for still doing weddings in the General at this time of year :thumbright:
I reckon you'll have just about paid for the resto by now, with all the weddings & bar mitzvahs you've been doing :D

Many a true word there Rob! I worked it out the other day, with what I did in 06 and this year I've covered the cost of the car  8-) :D

Hopefully 08 will be a good year and will cover the resto! or at least a fuel injected hemi lol

What happens while the wedding goes on? Do you hang about outside by the car or do you go in for the ceremony?

Yeah there are a couple of ways these things go:

"normal" drill is that I pick up the groom and best man from grooms house and take them to the church, wait about for the ceremony to finish then take either the bride and groom to the reception or the best man/ushers.

Or

Pick up the Bride and Father and do the same as above.

Or

These days a lot of weddings are held at stately homes or golf courses so the wedding and reception are at the same place.

Hanging about tends only to be around 40 Min's and by the time Ive been given a beverage and chatted with other chauffeurs its all over!

Better than being in a Wedding/Function band like me...
Arrive and set up at 5pm, sound check 5:30, out of wedding venue by 6pm, sit about drinking soft drinks in a small room until 9:30 play for a couple of hours with breaks. get home about 1:30 am.....

Good job playing is a load of fun, cos sitting around at hundreds of other peoples weddings is a real drag.....

What's the insurance like for you now you are doing the "for hire or reward" thing?
