the articals are good reading, but come on 750 hp from 500 cubes, yes that is fine but pump gas, b0llocks 11.9.1 compression,, pump gas mtrs here are gonna be 10.1 max or am i missin somethin

Was looking @ street/strip builds , one of them was a 440 , 11.5:1 comp , running on pump gas , no problem with detonation , but these motors have to be built with the right components , skating on thin ice with anything over 10.5:1 on pump gas , for the extra power gain would it be worth the risk?

Maybe these builds aired on the conservitive side with cam selection , so bleeding off too much compression , ending up with a lower dynamic compression than the 10.5:1 motor would make , is it worth it?

:dontknow:

Pump fuel here is higher octane than the States already.

You can run high static CRs with a large cam overlap without pinking.

My 12.5:1 with alloy heads and a BIG cam pinked far less than my iron headed 9.8:1 with a .484. Work that out..........

Thier build up killed the quench thoery as well - 0.40 down the bore with an aprox 0.45 head gasket - what's that all about? They did use a big cam, though...
