header paint

I think they can get up right around that temp - 600 deg C. Or higher if you are too lean and everything glows!
Put it like this - I seem to recall header paints claiming they are OK to 1300 deg F, which is about 700 deg C.
Not much help really, more digging reqd.

OK,didnt want to recomend this stuff till I`d tried it out.I have done 100 miles or so on these headers now and check the results in the pix.The passenger front pipe seems to be the only one with any dis-colouring on it,allbeit very slight, right close to the head.
The coating cost me?140 the pair plus VAT.The headers were brand new but had been standing for 2 years(inside) so had some surface rust but that price included full prep.
I have tried to phone the rep who sorted it out for me as I said I would cause he was un-sure of the results due to the poss temp, but he has been out,I think he will be impressed when I show him,I have had this motor to 240 degrees on the temp guage once so I think they are "cured" by now.

We've always found the hi-temp exhaust paint from Eastwood works well, lasts & looks good for a few years, and comes in an aerosol or a tin for brushing on.
Only used the factory gray type but it does come in silver finish too.
See link below for the stuff.....
I know the paint works, hope to link does!
