Whats it worth then?

Yes it's worth every penny of £40k, but getting it is a different matter.
The problem here in the UK is there aren't many people in this hobby with a pocket deep enough to fork out that kind of money in one hit. It's true there are plenty of people that have that much and more in their cars, but it was spent a bit at a time, - not all in one go. The crazy thing is most of their cars are only worth a fraction of what they've got in them, where as this Cuda is worth £40k all day long.
I have to agree with Richard that the coloured rear bumper and chrome front bumper is wierd. As far as I know Mopar never did it that way. It is common to find a Cuda with a coloured (elastomeric) front bumper only (my Cuda) but not the other way around, - or coloured both ends. That aside, the car looks lovely.
Speaking as someone that has a 340 E body convertible, I guess the 71 Cuda 340 Ragtop has got to be the best E body to have. - It's a 71, it's a Cuda, and that 340 is the best engine to have in an E body! 4 speed too, - what else do you want?
Go get it Mal.

Am I right in saying that 71 was the year they made the least of the `cuda convertables?
Beautiful colour tho.
Not an E body person really, but I do like this 1.
Have to agree with Si tho, would rather have 2 or 3 toys with change in my pocket. Not worth £40K this side of the pond unless it's definitely an original through and through, but then you'd need to go further into europe to find the dollar. No good stopping at these shores I'm affraid.
