Zinc Plating

Post by dustymopar »

Got a load of small bits n pieces that I want to have Zinc Plated.

Rather than going to a local firm with bags of stuff that might not come back  , I was thinking about buying a DIY plating kit

Has anyone used these - are they any good :?

I thought about it, but there was something about turning my big shed into a chemistry lab that put me off. I had visions of peeling my knackers off the side of the house wih a charred spatula. :?

I am sure its safe enough. Frosts do a decent kit.

I've been looking into this, for about £80 to get started it looks worthwhile. They do chroming kits now that don't use cyanide. The only thing that niggles me is getting the consumables after the initial kit.
