come on guys give it a break, what you have to remember is that car has to pass very stringent testing etc nowadays so will always be a comprimise, its a good looky likey really, i bet people that love vw beetles reckon the new retro version is not as good as the original, same with the new/old mini,s
only feeling i have is that some how it should look harder/meaner angrier.
the proposed camaro looks like it does, if we compare the new mustang its good but not as good lookin as the original, we never will think the retro cars look as good, WHY because we love the originals so much

If you was to move the consept photo to the same angle as the silver picture, it wouldn`t be that far out, its quite close
I think its going to need to been seen in the flesh to be sure, i`m not sure silver is doing it any favours though, i'd like to see the car in some other colours first.

Duncan makes a very valid point, but I think the whole DC (or whatever it is called this week) line-looks "porky".
The designers have stuck to a look of very high doorline and small window aperture. 300's look that way as well; works on a "Gangsta" car but not on a retro.
I guess this is the result of crash tests and a desire to keep tooling costs down by using the same platforms.
Still feels "second best" to me. Sad but true.
GM did a better job with the Camaro - that LOOKs tough, it might not be in practice; but 90% of people buy this sort of car for the looks.

Official Production Number Announced for 2008 Challenger
Date posted: 01-21-2008
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Chrysler has announced that it will build 6,400 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 coupes for the United States, with a few more slated for Mexico and Canada.
In October 2007, it was reported that Chrysler intended to produce a limited run of just 5,000 units of the 425-horsepower, 6.1-liter Hemi V8-powered Challenger, while just three weeks ago, Chrysler told Inside Line that it had already received more than 9,000 orders for the 2008 model.
Dodge has priced the Challenger SRT8 at $37,995, including a $675 destination fee. However, with what has become an issue of supply and demand, expect real-world sales transactions to skyrocket.
What this means to you: If you're not already at the top of the 2008 list, better look to next year. — Kelly Toepke, News Editor

Really intelligent marketing
They prime market and then no one can get get one. Fords method works, just like Tesco, pile 'em high sell 'em cheap and don't run out of stock. The way the US economy is looking, with recession quite possible it might pay to not make limited edition cars.
