Post by steveo »

been looking through some old mopar photos also , found these :D

the green one taken at brands hatch 93 ,at the first american AAR type race series . all these years i had been thinking that it was & old picture of Jim 's ........... but it is not the case , i pm the photo to Jim & he pointed out differences between the two , also his was sill in the US when the picture was taken , any ideas where it is now ????

plum crazy one EHJ151H , taken at Blake hall onger 92

taken at Blake hall also but can't think of the year might be 93 give or take :-k

also mentioned to Jim another challenger convertable , that i saw at santpod late 80's to 1990 may be  was striped out for 1/4 mile action , painted black , can't remember for sure but i think it was ally panaled out also , & was trailered to the track , Jim has a good idea that it is the same car that a guy contacted him looking for parts , any one remember this car . i haven't got a photo as i forgot to take one at the time  :drwho:

That's right Dunc' now i remember. The guy that had the Challenger that was destroyed told me he sent it all to the scrap. I told him that we should be a judge on what just gets thrown away. But he did it anyway, as far as i know the whole thing was scrapped. Personally i find it hard to belive there was absolutely nothing salvagable. - Oh well.

This is from a VHS tape I have. It shows me racing that Green Challenger back at the very first Mopar Nats. I was running high 14s then and the convertible was WAY behind.....

Is this the same car, Duncan. If so, someone got in touch with me a few years ago when I first posted pictures wanting bigger copies. No idea who it was now, I'm afraid, but he PM'd me through the message board.

By the way, I almost bought a slant 6 Challenger from John Mimmack way back in 1980 or so. For some reason, I thought it was white. When I saw him again in 1986, he remembered me and the car, but said it had gone south and had a V8 stuck in it. What a waste.
