But I have to give the credit to my mate Darren who's garage it is. He's the talented one.

Although we're both doing the bodywork, he's the one thats doing the welding which is turning out fantastic

Bodywork is only filling and rubbing really.

I'm so chuffed though. It's coming together alot quicker than I first thought

Is there something you dislike with a D.I.Y resto then R.Runner ? ? ?

If everything's cut / welded / primed / sealed properly, whats the panic?

Sadly, as much as I'd like to, I can't afford to take it to somewhere like John's place down in sunny Godalming, but then again we're enjoying restoring it ourselves.

You have to agree there's been many-a-mopar come out of garden garages around the country that have been saved.

At least it's going to be another Mopar saved and also 1000% better now than if I left it in the so-called capable hands of the last guy.

He never even cut out all the rot in places, he just welded over it. AND put in part-rusted metal

The first 3 pics below are his work and you'll see what I mean, .... then it's us cutting it out

I forgot to mention up above....

When we cut the deck panel out and "placed" the new one over for trial fitment, we realised that not only had the last guy done a Bananarama! job (worse than it looked), but he also never measured anything up properly.
There was a 25mm difference in the depth from the rear of the deck panel to the back window on the drivers side to the passenger side !!

Another words the bottom corner of the back window on the drivers side was 25mm closer to the front screen than it was on the passenger side.

Oh, and it was slightly higher too (just).

Imagine if he'd done everything and I'd had it painted, then came to fit it all back up again

Doesn't bear thinking about

Hey Runner , Jules has had his fair share of bein messed around by guys sayin they can do a job then pi$$in on him , think he's gettin sorted now.

Don't think this is the right thread to start puttin a guy down that's already had his fair share of sh$$t.

Maybe you can give Jules a pointer in the right direction.

Thankyou for your words of support Adam. 'tis true, I have had my fair share of being P'd about with this car already.
Thankfully though, things are now looking up

Remind me to buy you 1 of these at wheels day
