AACI Summernationals Billing 14/15 June 2008

Post by Jim »

'Anyone going to the AACI Summer Nat's at Billing 14/15 June.

The Holiday Inn at Bedford Road Northampton is a good place to stay. Several Mopar guys use it every year.

I just booked a King Executive Double room for £78 inc brekky (paid in advance) This is a good deal.

'Anyone else up for it?

I'll be there in my Camaro.. ohh the shame! And have booked in the hotel at the gates! It's nice and secure and there are always cars under covers in the car park.

You could even leave your car on the show field and walk in! Hmmm!

Hi Mark. Yes it's secure. It is a nice hotel, it used to be called Courtyard by Marriott. I stay there every year at Billing. There's also a nice walk along the river behind the hotel.

I have booked an executive room, a standard double is cheaper. there are loads of American cars booked in for Billing.

It's always a good time if we can get a few Mopar guys booked in and have a meal together on the Saturday evening.

I think the last event at Billing I attended was the Spring Nationals a couple of years ago. Thje heavens opened, and continued to do so all flippin day. Despite that, there were some fantastic cars there from all eras. Not many Mopars at all that weekend, but some lovely 40's and 50's cars. In particular, a pristine silver 1941 Cad convertible with red interior.

I might give this one a try this year. Would be nice to look at something else. :D

Last year was crap, it rained so much, but the Summernationals at Billing in June is usually good. Also we get lots of Mopars there, we take over the back of the field with Mopar.

It's my girlfriend Jan's favourite show (there's plenty for the girls to see and shop at). We always go.

C'mon Clive, see you there.

IF the weather's good (ie not flooded!), it's one my fave car-days-out of the year - I like the mix of cars that go and it's a great venue. I'm sure the Sat nite at the hotel would be a great craic....

BUT

one day's enough for me to be honest, so for that reason, I'm out!

We'll be there on the Sunday as usual tho :thumbright:
