Yes Matt. You were one of the first people I got talking too and remember your Challenger with the sunroof very well. I think you had just applied to join the Police Force at the time?

We all seemed much younger in those days. :)

When did the MMA form? :? Just after the Nats?

I seem to remember I got a phone call from John Marsh telling me about the club later that year or very early in the next year?

Club formed in Dec 1997, hence the 10th anniversary T shirts we produced last month ( some still left £10 each!!). John Marsh was involved early on as it was John that I bought my car from , after I met him at Brighton late in 93 when an attempt to start the MMC happened. Does anyone else remember that day time meet at a football ground in Brighton ? It is not the same as the meet on the seafront as there were no wing cars there.
The was organised by a Challenger owner from Brighton whose name escapes me (his car I think is the sublime French one now with the B1 engine) but it faltered early on and Tony O resurrected things in 97.

Must dig out more photos. New thread time?

Missed the first one as it was Mopes only.

Spoke to Tim Holmes at York and he mentioned coming along next time, so made the second and every one since then.

Remember this nonsense ? Santa Pod shutting the gate and not letting anyone in, except the organisers, and the French who had 'come a long way to get there'. I can't remember how long they kept us waiting outside.

Ian Houston's 10 second Firebird (drove 400 miles there and 400 miles back and denied his trophy), and my 87 and Dave Bruce's 86 Grand Nationals (380 miles there and 380 miles back both).

Dave's GN still holds the fastest mph for any of the UK GN's, 116mph with an aftermarket chip and retread tyres, rocker covers never off the engine. Car has been laid up for many years now.
