putting the rear brakes together on big red & relise Ive mixed up the two brake adjusters, one has a lh thread with L stamped inside & I pressume this go's on the lhs ( drivers side ) & the other with R on it on the offside ?
Just want to double check & test everyones wealth of knowledge
To adjust the brakes insert a screwdriver through the slot into the adjuster and move the screwdriver handle up.
From that you should be able to figure out which side they go.
So if that was the drivers side it would be clockwise and have to be left hand thread to increase the length of the adjuster right?
On the driver's side with the knobbly wheel at the back (as apparently it is) then I think that would be right.
The problem is that after you assemble them you can't remeber what you did because even though you can see its front slot or back slot you can't know which adjuster you put in which side.
Call me a saddo but I actually have it written in marker pen on my garage wall what my adjusters need to do to go tight or slack.
that aint sad. thats forward thinking. atleast you will never lose what you wrote it on lol
yes you were all correct, L on lhs & lift rear on screw driver up to adjust brakes up, now cant get it to bleed, but I've seen a few on threads about this problem
