More data required - Buying new, second hand, budget....

New clutch type ones are probably the best, then there is the Detriot locker style......I'll get me coat.

I must behave.

Anyway, the only experience I have is of a Mopar Performance replacement Sure-Grip, which I gave plenty of stick for three months then sold the car, but I've heard of them doing over 100,000 miles on the original clutches...but I suppose that depends on how hard you use it.

I'd rather spend a bit more and get a good'un. It's more street than strip. Want something reliable. If that exists.....

Quite seriously Bish, I would go for the standard MP replacement,

Although other companies like Richmond have a great reputation for their crown wheel and pinion gear sets, I've heard that people find their LSD's a bit of a pain on the street (I think it's called a Powertrax)...the same goes for some of the ratchet style lockers, they are very effective, but a Sure-Grip is virtually undetectable... even when you floor it you don't get any clicks and clunks, just grip or both wheels spinning depending on your power output and if you are using Cooper Cobra tyres!

I await to be corrected, but that's my opinion. :)

Ivor , what's wrong with the 'powr lok', or do you mean the 'trac lok'?

Trac lok came in after the powr lok & was considered not as good.

The Powr Lok is the Salisbury diff isn't it?..I had one in my Mini Cooper years ago...with that and the straight cut gears it didn't half make a racket...what's more you could hardly steer the car until the oil warmed up!

It was the Powertrax differential that I'd heard a few iffy things about...noisy on the street and springs popping out of the unit.

The Auburn Supergrip is supposed to be good, I think they are about 400 quid a pop the Mopar Performance direct replacement is about 100 quid cheaper.
