Wilwood make inline residual pressure valves, someone like Rally Design probably have 'em in stock.

I must be bored, just pulled the seat using a self tapper and there's no valve behind it. This is the port to the rear brakes so if there's not one for the rear there won't be one for the front. This master cylinder was used with drums all round with no problems.

If you did'nt have a spongy pedal Mick , then i should be ok , like the impatiance too. :D

Thanks for the link Blue , was great to see the Dart today , had'nt realised just how much work you've put into it.

Took the Pit out today , bearing in mind the new pads & shoes need bedding in , it stood on end when i hit the brakes, locking up the rears , it's nice to see the front dip when you hit the brakes.

Got it back to the garage & adjusted the rear proportioning valve , the brakes seem as they should be , so pretty happy with the result , may even lower the rod to the existing lower hole on the peddle , as it seems to travel further due to the higher position of the rod to master , also think i need to fit that residuel valve for the rear shoes.

Good news - so you don't advocate re-locating the push rod on the pedal then? I was considering doing that on the Belverdere.

So it was all down to pad material?

Until the pads & shoes bed in I won't know how fierce the brakes are going to be regarding peddle ratio , so will give an update when i put a few miles on the Pit , i think it definatly helps with the higher ratio , just not used to the peddle traveling that extra bit more.

Glad your brakes are working now Adam, must have been the original pads that caused the problem.

Yep , original pads supplied with the SSBC kit were race pads.

The replacement stock mussie pads work great , with drums on rear.

WARNING!!!!!!........DO NOT DRILL THE PEDDLE. Unless you want to go through the front screen & ride on the hood (bonnet).
