Hi Guys need some advice, have a new dual point dizzy on the car but seem to have a problem as i have changed the condenser 3 times now. Runs ok for a period of time then a slight misfire starts, then it runs like a diesel. Have checked timing thats fine, any ideas?

That sounds like a coil breakdown , it starts ok ,runs a while coil gets warm & goes open circuit. OK again when cold. Coil set up wrong polarity can give similar symptoms also.

standard coil or heavy duty? if coil takes loads of power, i have seen points get hot, melt the plastic heel, and the gap close up ! (must have been lucas ones! :) )
