C body rear spring bushes

Post by latil »

Does anyone know what size they are? They look,at the rear end,the same as b body. I can't find any for sale in the states, ideally I'd like polybushes.

That was useful Jerry as it says what the size at the rear is. But I would still buy from ESPO. ;)

The front eye bushing will depend on performance level and model. Usually 1.5 inch on performance cars and 2 inch on others but that is only a general rule and may differ from model to model. So the only way to be sure is to measure the front bush or eye diameter.

Yep. They are the best by a mile. Shame they don't sell as much suspension stuff as they used to because you always got the best prices and advice from them. In particular the canny lass you usually get through to. She really knows her stuff. :thumbright:

Thanks to ESPO,I've got this lot to sort out. I bought both sizes of front eye bushes because it was raining and I couldn't be bothered to check.

A little tip for anyone without a press, (like me).
To remove the front spring eye bush, lay the spring on it's side and drill the rubber out of the bush.About 6 times through and the rubber will dig out with an old screwdriver. This leaves just the thin outer band in the eye which will nip out with a sharp chisel. Total time to remove both bushes completely - 15 mins. Cost - pennies.

I've used this method for years on all sorts.
