Yeah but Dave its a brand new car for Gawds sake. How clean does the fool want it? The minute he goes down the road its getting dirtier. The owner must be a bit of a Rain Man when it comes to cleanliness. OCD or what?
How cool would it be to force dogs muck into the air vents
I tend to agree with you there Dave, but seeing a feature on Top Gear or 5th Gear about this standard of car washing/polishing, and knowing how much you have to pay the guy (may have been the same bloke, come to think of it), ie £1000+, it just seems a bit out of proportion to the value of the car.
On the TV prog I saw he was giving a Lambo that kind of treatment and it seemed more justifiable
£1000 is value for money if you were the type to enter concourse show events. Most of the people showing their cars at classic shows etc spend many times the cars value to make it a prize winner.
If I had the sort of disposable income most people have then I would spend £1000 if my paint would look like that at the end of it. It is peanuts compared to what a good paint job costs.
If that car is looked after the paint will stay as good as that for many years.
A mate of mine took a brand new car completely apart the first day he got it home. He then spent weeks rebuilding it to perfection.
This was in 1970 and was the very last of the Morris Minor Travelers.
Since then he has won award after award. Being National Champion of the UK and Ireland many times.
Now that may seem mad to some of you. But I have to tell you that there are millions of people out there that thing we are absolutely crazy to even drive old American cars let alone spend what we do on our hobby.
£1000 to make a car perfect? I think that is a bargin considering I have spent that much on my car the last 6 months alone without it even working yet.
What a totally boring fart he is, wonder how long it takes him to clean his teeth and with how many proceedures and products.
MOPAR - Move Over Power Arriving Rapidly
Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay My Mopar upon you
I'm aware of the VXR performance, it's the same as my Focus ST - it's a good car. BUT it is still an Astra, so why would anyone want to take a second look at it and why would you want to spend all that dough on something you can see at Sainsburys any day.
If you want to buy a car to have fun in - it's fanstastic, just like my ST. If you want to impress other people, you picked the wrong car or are concernd with the wrong peoples opinions!!!!

In my defence. I was working from my desk with a guy all day that owns a VXR. You will have noticed a subtle change in my tone after 5pm tonight when I got home.
