Into the 13s this year?

Post by MilesnMiles »

Not serious racing numbers, but do you reckon the following planned changes cpuld break the 13s this year?
Currently -14.3@98mph
Full weight Dart Sport
changes as follows
3.23 t0 3.91 gears (hopefully, with lsd by the time car hits the street!))
225/60 x 15 tyres to 245/60 x 15 (rears!)
1800rpm convertor to 2,200+ convertor
Fitting 1" carb to inlet spacer
Waddya reckon? :thumbright:

Gears alone will make a big difference, if you can get the power down I think you'll do it.

With 98 mph you should be able to run 13.2s with every thing perfect.391s are a good choice, use a convertor around 2800stall or a 10"3500 stall for more serious effort, gonna need soft tyres or better yet slicks, reckon thatll do it,easy mid 13s.
Just my opinion.

Nope. I haven't fitted jack yet. Been acuuumerlating parts and waiting for the storms to abate.
Went down to Fistral beach tonight, never seen such a swell the whole car
park was a mess of sand foam waves and seaborne carnage.Exciting stuff!
Meanwhile... intend to fit all new stuff over Easter and then hunt down some wheels and slicks for the odd charge down the strip :thumbright:

Kev, motor is a mildish 360.
I remember reading posts about your first 13 back on the old 'orange' forum. Tweety, Farmer Ted and others contributing. I remember Ted suggesting that 13 was a fast street car and that always stuck in my head.
TVRs, Evos and other assorted modern cars can run 13s. Fancied getting amongst them with a lot less expense :thumbright:
